Published on March 7th, 2010 4:14 am ESTDay 2 of the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship has now drawn to a close.

Phil Ivey, Erick Lindgren, Joe Hachem, Sam Farha
Some of the players who lost in round three included:

Pokerstars has three players in the "elite eight" (Eastgate, Mercier and Phillips), while Full Tilt Poker has just two (Erik Seidel and Jerry Yang, who is still listed as a "friend of Full Tilt Poker").
Former winners of this event did not fare very well at all this year. Chris Ferguson was eliminated in the second round by Dennis Phillips, Phil Hellmuth was eliminated in the second round by Annette Obrestad, Paul Wasicka was eliminated in the third round by Annie Duke, Ted Forrest was eliminated in the first round by Stephen Quinn and Huck Seed was eliminated in the first round by Erick Seidel. There won't be any repeat winners this year.
There are a number of former WSOP main event champions in the "Elite Eight", as Doyle Brunson, Jerry Yang, Peter Eastgate and Scotty Nguyen have all won poker's biggest tournament.
We'll have another update tomorrow night when the tournament comes to a close.
