Big Day for Both Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars on Sunday
Published on November 16th, 2009 7:22 pm ESTIt was a big day for both Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars on Sunday, as players flocked to both sites to participate in multiple mega-field tournaments.
Full Tilt Poker hosted its FTOPS main event on Sunday afternoon. 5,471 players turned out for the event, which created a total prize pool of over $2.73 million dollars. "zhivago2" ended up taking down the tournament for about $418k (post-chop), with "ItsTime2Win" taking second ($316k) and Adam Junglen taking third (290k).
This was the largest prize pool ever for a FTOPS main event.
Not to be outdone, Pokerstars saw a massive turnout for its "Landmark" Sunday Million tournament.
18,283 players entered the event (which had a guarantee of $2.5 million dollars), creating a total prize pool for the event of over $3.65 million dollars.
The event was eventually won by "Zadman5311", who took home around $282k after around 12 hours of poker.
All in all, a very strong weekend for both Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.
