Johnny Chan, who currently has ten World Series of Poker bracelets to his credit, will be attempting to win #11 on Monday afternoon in the $10,000 NLHE Heads-Up Championship.

Chan has just won his final heads-up match of the day to secure himself a spot in the quarter-finals of the event. Johnny was able to eliminate Justin "BoostedJ" Smith to move on to the "Elite 8".

As mentioned, Johnny Chan currently has 10 WSOP bracelets. This is one less than Phil Hellmuth, who currently sits as the all-time leader with a total of 11 bracelets.

Johnny Chan still has a tremendous amount of work to do to secure his 11th bracelet, as there are some very good players still left in the field. Chan still has to win three more matches to earn his 11th World Series of Poker victory, which will certainly be no easy task.

In addition to the bracelet, the winner of this event will receive $625,682 for finishing in first place.

The runner-up will receive $386,636. Each of the eight players who make it into the quarter-finals will receive at least $92,580.

Some of the notable players who were able to cash but have been eliminated are:

Justin Smith
Yevgeniy Timoshenko
Jason Mercier
Brock Parker

This was Brock Parker's fifth cash of the 2009 World Series of Poker so far, which is already an incredibly impressive achievement.

Can Johnny Chan move ahead of Doyle Brunson and into a tie with Phil Hellmuth with a win on Monday?

Or will Phil Hellmuth enjoy the view from the top a little bit longer?
