"dorinvandy" won the $10k NLHE "High-Roller" event on September 7th for $618k, and then proceeded to finish 5th in the $320 NLHE 6-Max event for an additional $31,500.

"Mary 717" took down the $215 PLO 6-Max event for $71k, and then followed this up with a fifth place finish in the $1k NLHE event on September 14th for $142k.

Chris "Money800" Moneymaker has had a consistently strong showing in the 2008 WCOOP as well. He finished in sixth place in the $10k "High-Roller" event for $139k, and then took down $28k for his fifth place finish in the $215 PLO cubed event on September 12th. He also made the money of the $530 NLHE Shootout Event which took place on Thursday night.

"Andy McLeod" took down the $215 PLO cubed event on September 12th for $98k, and then finished in seventh place in the Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo event for $6,500.

These were all extremely impressive performances - however, the most consistent player in this year's WCOOP is Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. "ElkY" has gone deep in a total of five WCOOP events so far this year, barely missing the final table of three and making the final table of the other two.

"ElkY" started out his strong WCOOP run by taking second place in the $25k Heads-Up event on September 14th. "ElkY" ended up losing to Steven "stevesbets" Jacobs in the finals, and ultimately ended up collecting $320k for his efforts.

He followed this up with a 14th place finish in the $1k NLHE event on September 14th. "ElkY" fell victim to some bad luck when he was eliminated, as he had his opponent (NYC P.I.M.P.) all-in, with "ElkY" holding A/Q to his opponent's A/J. Unfortunately for Grospellier, a Jack fell on the flop and he was eliminated just short of the final table.

A few days later, in the $530 cubed NLHE event, "ElkY" found himself deep once again. This time he ended up being eliminated in 15th place, and collected $10,950 for his efforts.

On September 17th, "ElkY" finished in 12th place in the Pot Limit Omaha / Rebuys event, banking just over $8k. This represented four deep runs in this year's edition of the WCOOP, but he wasn't done just yet.

"ElkY" also made the final table of the $530 NLHE Triple Shootout on Thursday, eventually bowing out in fifth place for a $20k score. "ElkY" was once again let down by A/Q - this time he got it all-in pre-flop holding A/Q and was called by the chipleader, who held K/J offsuit. "ElkY" flopped top two pair but there were three hearts on the board, and when the river brought another heart, "ElkY" was eliminated in fifth place.

There are still five events remaining in the 2008 WCOOP, including the Main Event, which gets underway on Sunday.
