Is it your dream to play poker heads-up against the likes of Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu? Do you dream of the day that you can play on national TV against some of the best poker players in the world? If so, then Pokerstars.net has a promotion for you.
A few days ago we posted a list of 60 names that would be participating in the 2008 National Heads-Up Poker Championship. This list included the likes of Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey and Johnny Chan. We also said that there would be four "special" qualifiers to the event. Well Pokerstars.net is offering one of those special qualifiers to one lucky American player.
The grand prize will be:
-$20k buy-in to the 64 man Heads-Up Poker Championship, with a shot at the $500k first place prize
-4 nights accomodation in Vegas for the taping of the event
-$1k cash
Only those Pokerstars players who live in the United States and are at least 21 can qualify. Existing US Pokerstars players qualify for the tournaments, as well as those who sign up for new accounts through pokerstars.net.
Players are given two free entries to a round 1A and round 1B qualifying tournaments. These tournaments run daily at 7 pm EST (Round 1A) and 10 pm EST (Round 1B). These round one tournaments run from January 22nd up until February 22nd. Those who advance through Round 1 are automatically qualified for the Round 2 tournaments which are held every Saturday from January 26th until February 23rd. Those who advance through Round 2 will qualify for the final Round 3 tournament which takes place on February 24th. Whoever wins Round 3 will win the National Heads-Up Poker Championship prize package.
The National Heads-Up Poker Championship runs from February 28th - March 2nd.
