Are you a current post-secondary student living in the US, Canada or the United Kingdom? Do you want a shot at playing in an EPT event or winning a $12,000 package to play at the World Series of Poker, and paying off a big chunk of your tuition for the 2008 school year?
Lifeofsports Inc. is running a number of different events that will be co-sponsored by major online poker rooms.
First off, the "Canadian College Poker Championship" had its first qualifier on Wednesday, January 16th. Qualifiers run all of the way until Sunday, May 21st, with the finals taking place on May 25th at 7 pm. The event is sponsored by 888.com. The top three finishers from each qualifier move on to the finals on May 25th, where the winner will receive $9000 Canadian towards their tuition and an all-expense paid trip to play in the World Series of Poker main event. There is no purchase required to enter. Follow the link below for more information:

The United Kingdom University Poker Championship is sponsored by Cake Poker. The first qualifier was played on November 11th, and the last qualifier is April 27th, with the finals being played on June 4th. Again, the top three finishers from each qualifier will qualify for the finals. This is the same deal as the Canadian College Poker Championship; you MUST be a current post-secondary student in the UK and if you win, you will receive 4500 pounds to go towards your tuition plus a $12k USD World Series of Poker package.
UK University Poker Championship
Lastly we have the North American College Poker Championship, which is sponsored by Pokerstars. Pokerstars.com representative Carly Sawers had this to say about the event:
"We're excited to be involved in this event because it offers students an opportunity to further their education with the free tuition and also provides them with a chance to visit Europe and play in an event on the European Poker Tour."
As mentioned, the prize for this event will be an EPT prize package (tournament buy-in, airfare, hotel, travel expenses) plus $9k US to go towards tuition. Online qualifiers started on November 18th and will run until April 27th, with the finals being played on May 4th, 2008.
