Cates Takes Down $50,000 Poker Player's Championship

The Poker Players Championship is one of the most prestigious events in all of poker.You can now remove Daniel "Jungleman" Cates from the list of Best Players To Have Never Won a WSOP Bracelet.

On Friday evening, Cates successfully navigated through a very tough field to get his name engraved on the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

The $50,000 Poker Players Championship is one of the most prestigious events in all of poker, as the event attracts a very strong field and requires a thorough knowledge of many different poker variants.

The final table included a number of great players, including Cates, Paul Volpe and Josh Arieh, just to name a few.

Cates arrived at the final table ready to win, as he dyed his hair and wore a "street fighter" costume. Cates said that he was going to win, and he followed through on his promise.

With his victory on Friday night, Daniel Cates now has a little under $10 million in total lifetime tournament cashes, despite the fact that he doesn't spend much time on the tournament circuit.

Cates' largest cash remains his second place finish in the 2014 EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller event, where he cashed for roughly $1.75 million USD.
