Winner of Rematch Will Walk Away With $400,000
Published on September 7th, 2021 4:39 pm ESTIt turns out that Phil Hellmuth does want the rematch.
In the moments following his "High Stakes Duel" loss to Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Phil Hellmuth didn't seem to be too particularly enthused about the prospects of challenging Dwan to a rematch.
After thinking about it for a bit, however, Hellmuth decided to text Dwan to officially challenge "durrrr" to a rematch.

This will technically be the third match of "High Stakes Duel III", which means that both players will need to put up $200,000, with the winner walking away with $400,000.
Tom Dwan stepped in after Nick Wright elected not to continue after losing his first "High Stakes Duel" match against Phil Hellmuth.
At the time, Phil Hellmuth was in the midst of a seven match winning streak, which included 3-0 sweeps against both Antonio Esfandiari and Daniel Negreanu.
Dwan and Hellmuth had history, as Dwan was at the receiving end of a Phil Hellmuth rant at the 2008 National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
13 years later, the two men finally connected for a heads-up poker match, which Dwan ended up winning.
-
Both Dwan and Hellmuth have clearly maintained their places at the top of the poker world, so it's great that they will be connecting for another heads-up poker match.
Dwan has opened as a small betting favourite for the rematch.
There is no word as of yet as to when the rematch will be taking place.
