Festival To Run From April 4th to April 28th

Earlier today, Pokerstars released the dates for the 2021 SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker).

The series, which is the second biggest on Pokerstars' calendar, will run from Sunday, April 4th to Wednesday, April 28th.

There is no word as of yet as to the amount of money that Pokerstars will be guaranteeing over the course of the series, though they have promised that "this year is expected to be big".

Last year's SCOOP series had over $135 million in total guaranteed prize money, and that number ended up getting smashed.

Last year's SCOOP series got underway, though this year's series will be starting on April 4th, which is significantly earlier than usual.

This is a smart move by Pokerstars, as many countries around the world are hoping to significantly expand their re-opening efforts this summer as more and more of the population gets vaccinated against COVID-19.

Pokerstars is likely figuring that by starting the festival nearly a month earlier, they can take advantage of a global population that is still locked down.
