Phil Galfond Currently Maintains €150,000 Lead Over Chance Kornuth

The Glafond Challenge host is undefeated so far and going strong.

After a particularly strong session on Thursday, Phil Galfond has now jumped out to a sizeable lead in the current "Galfond Challenge".

Chance Kornuth of Chip Leader Coaching is Galfond's current opponent. Entering this Challenge, Kornuth was seen as a big underdog to beat Galfond.

The stakes are €100/€200, and the game of choice is Pot Limit Omaha.

If Galfond is ahead at the end of 35,000 hands, he will collect an additional €250,000 from Kornuth.

If Kornuth is ahead at the end of 35,000 hands, he will collect an additional €1,000,000 from Galfond.

After a number of close sessions, Galfond finally broke out by winning €117,000.

After a total of 5,600 hands, the numbers currently look like this:

Chance Kornuth, -€149,000

Kornuth, who was a big underdog heading into the match-up, will now need to play catch-up.

Galfond is undefeated in "Galfond Challenge" matches so far, as he has scored wins over "VeniVidi" and "ActionFreak".

In addition, Galfond won a "mini Galfond Challenge" against Daniel Cates, and is also currently enjoying a €90k lead against Bill Perkins in their challenge.
