Is Depaulo The First Player To Ever Win a WSOP From Inside of a Parked Car?
Published on July 14th, 2020 4:29 pm ESTRyan Depaulo did something on Monday night that has almost certainly never been done before.
He won a World Series of Poker bracelet while inside of a parked car.
Depaulo, who plays under the "joeyisamush" moniker on WSOP.com, played the entirety of the tournament while parked outside of a Whole Foods in New Jersey.
The WSOP.com bracelet events are open to anybody that is currently inside of either the Nevada or New Jersey borders.
So, you don't have to be a resident of either state to play in the tournaments - you just need to be IN the states at the time that the tournament is played.
So, Depaulo decided to drive to New Jersey to play in the tournament while parked outside of a Whole Foods.
While other players like Phil Hellmuth were playing from inside of opulent suites in Las Vegas, Depaulo took it to the streets (literally) and played from a parking lot.

In exchange for overcoming the rest of the 2,427 entry tournament, Depaulo took down $159,563, as well as the prestigious World Series of Poker bracelet.
This was the second largest cash of Depaulo's career, as he also finished third in the 2009 $400 Colossus event for a little over $200k.
