16 Different Championship Tournaments Will Feature Buy-In of At Least $10,000, Including New Online Event
Published on January 9th, 2020 2:10 pm ESTEarlier today, the World Series of Poker released their Championship schedule for the 2020 WSOP.
"Championship events" feature a buy-in of at least $10,000.
In total, there will be a total of 16 Championship Events this year, including the $10,000 main event.
All but two of the events will be freezeouts (meaning no re-entries), while the others will allow for 1 rebuy (the Short Deck and No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw events).
The most interesting addition to the schedule is the $10,000 WSOP.com ONLINE No Limit Hold'em event, which will get underway on July 2nd.
The Poker Players Championship will feature the highest buy-in of the 16 events at $50,000, while the rest of the events will have buy-ins of $10,000.
The WSOP notes that the Poker Players Championship will introduce No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw to the mix this year, bringing the total variants of poker included in the event up to nine.
