Event To Be Held in Barcelona in August of 2020
Published on August 28th, 2019 11:00 am ESTEarlier this week, Pokerstars revealed that the PSPC - Pokerstars Players No Limit Hold'em Championship - will be making its grand return in 2020.
The location of the event will change this time around, moving from the Bahamas to Barcelona. The event will run in conjunction with the EPT Barcelona event, with the actual PSPC taking place from August 20-24, 2020.
This announcement comes on the heels of the EPT Barcelona main event setting a new entry record for a EPT main event.
Holding the PSPC at the EPT Barcelona makes a great deal of sense, as many players have complained about travelling to the PCA in the past, and there have been several incidents regarding players trying to leave the Bahamas with significant amounts of cash. Spain is much easier for most players to get to, so making this move makes a great deal of sense.

The buy-in for the 2020 PSPC will be €22,500, though Pokerstars will be giving away plenty of "Platinum Passes" to fill the tournament. This proved to be a big success with the first PSPC, as the abundance of recreational players in the field attracted many sharks due to the value, and this helped to create a massive event.
The "Platinum Pass" packages will be worth €26,466, which will include the tournament buy-in, hotel, flight and other expenses.
As with the first PSPC, Pokerstars will be giving out Platinum Passes in a variety of different ways, including social media contests and freerolls.
