partypoker Looking to Enhance Enjoyment For Casual Players
Published on June 29th, 2019 2:29 pm ESTIf there has been one theme over the past couple of years in the online poker world, it has been this: recreational players are the lifeblood of the industry and should be protected as much as possible.
Earlier this month, partypoker rolled out a number of changes to protect their recreational players from being exploited by more advanced grinders. This included the banning of HUDs, the forced creation of new aliases, the removing of downloadable hand histories, the requirement that a player be seated in order to observe cash games and the removing of downloadable hand histories.
These changes were not loved by everyone (obviously the grinders didn't particularly like these changes), though overall, the changes have been supported by the online poker community.

Earlier this week, partypoker rolled out additional changes that will seek to make the games more enjoyable for everyone, particularly recreational players.
One of those changes involves reducing the amount of "decision time" that players will receive in cash games.
A common complaint is that some players, particularly those who are more experienced, take far too long with their decisions, especially if they are multi-tabling. This slows down the game for everyone and can often frustrate players who are just playing on one table.
To counter that, partypoker has reduced decision times for their cash games.
In NLHE cash games, the current decision time for a pre-flop decision is 15 seconds, and it will remain at 15 seconds going forward.
In NLHE cash games, the post-flop decision time is currently 20 seconds, and that will be reduced to 15 seconds going forward.
In PLO cash games, the pre-flop decision time is currently set at 25 seconds, and that will be reduced to 15 seconds going forward.
In PLO cash games, the post-flop decision time is currently set at 25 seconds, and that will be reduced to 20 seconds going forward.
In addition, partypoker is reportedly working on making changes to their tournament time bank system, with details expected to come shortly.

On top of that, partypoker is running a promotion in July called the "Table Starter Cashback Promotion", which will seek to give players double cashback points in exchange for starting cash game tables. Please note that this won't apply to heads-up or fastforward cash games. Also, at least 2-3 players must have been dealt cards in order for the Table Starter to qualify for double rakeback in that particular hand.
