Rheem has been the subject of a great deal of controversy over the years, mainly due to unpaid debts. Rheem has promised to make good on his debts in the past.

Despite his less-than-stellar reputation in the poker industry, there is no denying that "Chino" is a very skilled player in large field poker tournaments.

This was the fourth million dollar plus cash of Rheem's career, with his others coming at the 2008 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic (1st, $1,538,730), the 2011-12 Epic Poker League main event (1st, $1,000,000) and the 2013 WPT World Championship (1st, $1,150,297).

In addition, Rheem also took down the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in 2016 for $705,885.
