$500 Buy-In Event Will Give Players Chance To Take Home $1 Million
Published on December 21st, 2018 9:40 pm ESTThe World Series of Poker likes to put on small buy-in events with big guaranteed prize pools in order to attract casual poker players to Las Vegas, and the 2019 World Series of Poker will be no different.
Earlier this week, the World Series of Poker revealed that the 2019 WSOP will run from May 28th until July 16th, 2019. The tournament series expects to hand out more than $200 million in total prize money over the course of the festival.
This year will feature the "Big 50", which will look to blow the doors off of the start of the festival.
The "Big 50", which will get underway on Thursday, May 30th, will have a buy-in of just $500 and a total guaranteed prize pool of $5 million, with the eventual winner being guaranteed a total payday of at least $1 million.
The "Big 50" will feature starting stacks of 50,000 chips and 50-minute levels.
The "Big 50" will have four starting flights, and players will be allowed to re-enter once per flight. The starting flights will take place on May 30th, May 31st, June 1st and June 2nd.

In addition to the "Big 50", the World Series of Poker also announced starting dates for other big events, including the "Millionaire Maker" ($1 million to winner), the Crazy Eights NLHE event (buy-in of $888, $888,888 to winner) and the $10,000 World Series of Poker main event, which will get underway on July 3rd, 2019.
The main event will run from July 3rd to July 16th, and will be broadcast exclusively on PokerGO and ESPN.

The final schedule for the 2019 World Series of Poker has not been released as of yet, though you can safely assume that it will be made available shortly into the new year.
