"Powerfest" To Continue Until September 23rd

The World Championship of Online Poker on Pokerstars is set to conclude this weekend. That's the bad news for online tournament grinders.

The good news? "Powerfest" on partypoker is a three week event, with another $25 million in guarantees set to be handed out over the next week.

September 23rd, which is the last day of the "Powerfest" series, will feature a number of Championship events, including:

Powerfest #142-SHR - $5,200 (PKO) - $1 Million Guaranteed

Powerfest #143-HR - $530 - $1 Million Guaranteed

Powerfest #144-HR - $1,050 - $1 Million Guaranteed

Powerfest #144-H - $215 - $500k Guaranteed

Powerfest #144-M - $55 - $250k Guaranteed

Powerfest #144-L - $16.50 - $75k Guaranteed

Powerfest #144-MI - $3.30 - $15k Guaranteed

Despite going head-to-head against Pokerstars' WCOOP, partypoker has been able to more than hold their own.

Partypoker's "Powerfest" series coincided with the release of new software, which has had relatively strong feedback from the online poker community.

Partypoker significantly increased the size of their guarantees for this "Powerfest" and the results have been very encouraging. Given the size of the tournament fields and partypoker's growing momentum, don't be surprised if the next "Powerfest" series has even higher guarantees.
