Dwan, Daniel Cates, Phil Ivey Set To Travel to South Korea For Series
Published on July 22nd, 2018 2:37 pm ESTAccording to Pokernews.com (link below), some of poker's biggest names plan on travelling to South Korea for the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju.
The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series has grown in popularity thanks to a couple of reasons, including the locations (Macau, South Korea, Montenegro) and the way that the tournament organizers treat the players. In addition, the inclusion of Short-Deck events have done well to attract the likes of Phil Ivey, who enjoy the action that the short deck events provide.
The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, which takes place at the Jeju Landing Casino in South Korea, will run from July 23rd until August 1st. The main event, which will get underway on July 30th, will feature a buy-in of HKD 2,000,000, which translates into roughly 255,000 American dollars.
There are three Short-Deck events as well, with buy-ins of $13,000 USD, $64,000 USD and $127,000 USD.

Tournament organizers have to be thrilled with the list of names that plan on turning out for the event. As of this moment, the following people will be attending the series, barring a last minute change of plans:
Phil Ivey
Tom Dwan
Daniel "Jungleman" Cates
Fedor Holz
Jason Koon
Holz is coming off of a second place finish in the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop event, so he will certainly be flush with cash when he arrives.
-
Justin Bonomo, who has been winning absolutely everything as of late, will not be in attendance at this series, as he has publicly stated that he won't be playing in any more poker tournaments until September.
