partypoker LIVE Millions North America Finishes With Small Overlay

It was an ambitious guarantee - $10 million for a tournament at the Playground Poker Club in Quebec, Canada.

partypoker LIVE organizers did everything that they could to reach the guarantee, including featuring five starting flights and late registrations until midway through Day 2B.

In the end, partypoker LIVE just missed the guarantee for this event, as they ended up with a total of 1,954 entrants. In order to meet the guarantee, tournament organizers would have needed a total of 2,000 entries, so they just came up short.

partypoker LIVE has been putting up some pretty sizeable guarantees in an attempt to draw players, and so far the plan has been working.

In just a couple of years, partypoker LIVE has emerged as a serious competitor to the European Poker Tour, which is owned and run by Pokerstars. partypoker had some lofty ambitions when they hired John Duthie (the founder of the European Poker) to run partypoker LIVE, though the efforts have certainly been paying off.

The large guarantee (and multi million dollar first place prize) was successful in drawing some of poker's biggest names, including Antonio Esfandiari and others.

All in all, another solid effort from partypoker LIVE, as they have created another must-play event on the tournament circuit.
