Talk about embarrassing. Shannon Elizabeth, D-list celebrity and self-proclaimed "professional poker player", made the trip all the way down to Australia to participate in the 2007 Victorian Poker Championship in Australia. Due to her enormous "star power", there would be no doubt that she would be prompted escorted into the casino and pampered like the celebrity that she is.
The problem is that she walked into the Crown Poker Room and was stopped by security guards. "Where is your ID?" they asked.
"I don't have it with me," Elizabeth responded.
"Then we can't let you into the casino," the security guards said.
"Don't you know who I am?"
The guards returned a blank stare.
"I'm 33 years old," Elizabeth said, her voice starting to choke with emotion, "why are you carding me?"
"We can't let you in without ID."
And with that, Elizabeth stormed off, and was denied access to the Victoria Poker Championships. It is unknown whether or not she came back later with ID.
Still funny, nonetheless.
