Loosli Wins Over 1.2 Million Euros
Published on August 25th, 2015 8:35 am ESTSylvain Loosli overcame a very talented and crowded field to take down the EPT12 Barcelona Super High Roller event for 1,224,000 EUR. Dzmitry Urbanovich of Poland finished in second place for 841,500 EUR, while Christoph Vogelsang walked away with 551,485 EUR for his third place finish.
The EPT12 Barcelona Super High Roller event drew a very large crowd, as 85 people turned out for the event, which included the likes of Patrik Antonius, Erik Seidel and Jason Mercier. In addition to 85 people paying the 50,000 EUR entry fee, an additional 14 re-buys also helped to pad the prize pool. The EPT Barcelona is quickly becoming one of the most popular events on the poker tour, and the numbers for the Super High Roller event helped to illustrate that.

The final hand of the event came when a short-stacked Dzmitry Urbanovich elected to make his final stand holding Jd-10s. Loosli, well ahead in chips at this point, decided to make the call holding Pocket Fives.
The flop brought Kh-4d-2h and Loosli still had the lead in the hand. The turn brought the dagger to Urbanovich's chances, as Loosli spiked a set of Fives. The river was meaningless King of Spades and Loosli was declared the victor.
With his victory, Loosli now has over $4.6 million in total lifetime tournament cashes. This was the second largest cash of Loosli's career, as he finished in 4th place in the 2013 World Series of Poker main event for $2,792,533.
