Phil Ivey Takes Home $1.71 Million USD With Victory
Published on February 4th, 2015 3:01 am ESTIt's probably safe to say that the LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions is Phil Ivey's favorite event.
Earlier this week, Ivey topped a field that includes the likes of Scott Seiver, Erik Seidel and Isaac Haxton to win his third LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge event in the last four years.
Here is how the final table ended up finishing out:
1. Phil Ivey, $2,205,000 AUD
2. Mike McDonald, $1,592,500 AUD
3. Doug Polk, $1,041,500 AUD
4. Scott Seiver, $735,000 AUD
5. Erik Seidel, $551,000 AUD
The final hand of the event came when Ivey and McDonald got all-in pre-flop. The two players held:
Ivey - Kc-Qc
McDonald - As-Qh
Ivey has often said that A-Q is one of his unluckiest hands. On this day, however, A-Q would end up being unlucky for Mike McDonald after the flop brought the King of spades and two Tens. The turn and river helped neither player and Ivey walked away with a payday of over $1.7 million.

With his win earlier this week, Phil Ivey now sits in the #3 spot on the all-time money list with tournament cashes totalling $23,199,532. Only Daniel Negreanu ($29,943,008) and Antonio Esfandiari ($26,266,687) are ahead of Ivey at this point.
Let's take a look at the damage that Ivey has inflicted on the $250,000 Challenge over the past three years:
2012 - 1st, $2,058,948 USD
2014 - 1st, $3,582,753 USD
2015 - 1st, $1,710,854 USD
