Event To Run From August 28th to September 3rd

The $10 million guaranteed Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship event is set to return on August 28th.

Earlier today, details of the massive event were formally released on Seminolehardrockpokeropen.com.

The event, which should attract many of poker's top tournament players, is a deep stack no limit hold'em tournament with re-entries. The tournament, which will have a buy-in of $5,300, will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel + Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Here is the schedule for the tournament:

Day 1A - Thursday, August 28th
Day 1B - Friday, August 29th
Day 1C - Saturday, August 30th

Day 2 - Sunday, August 31st
Day 3 - Monday, September 1st
Day 4 - Tuesday, September 2nd
Day 5 - Wednesday, September 3rd

Last year's event attracted a total of 2,384 entries which resulted in a total prize pool of $11,920,000. The tournament was won by Blair Hinkle ($1,745,245), while Justin Bonomo finished in second place for $1,163,500.

Last year's event left a very good impression on the majority of the participants, which should mean an even bigger field this year.

There were worries that this event would conflict with the EPT Barcelona (which runs from August 16th-27th), but tournament organizers tweaked the schedule to give poker players enough time to travel from Barcelona to Florida.
