Screenshot Shows Schedule of "Notable Events" For 2014 WSOP
Published on February 1st, 2014 2:21 am ESTEarlier today, a page was discovered on WSOP.com that showed a schedule of "Notable Events" for the 2014 World Series of Poker. WSOP.com quickly pulled the page down, but a few sites, including Igaming.org (link below), managed to grab screenshots of the page.
The biggest revelation of the page? The World Series of Poker is allegedly going to be guaranteeing $10 million for the winner of this year's main event.
If this turns out to be accurate, the $10 million first place prize would be the second largest payday in the history of the World Series of Poker main event. Let's look at the five biggest WSOP main event paydays of all time up until this point:
2006 - Jamie Gold, $12,000,000
2008 - Peter Eastgate, $9,152,416
2010 - Jonathan Duhamel, $8,944,138
2011 - Pius Heinz, $8,715,638
2012 - Greg Merson, $8,715,638
According to the screenshot, this year's main event would get underway on July 5th, 2014.

Here are some of the start dates for some of the more notable events:
$25,000 Mixed Max - May 27th
The Poker Players Championship - June 22nd
Big One for One Drop - June 29th
Main Event - July 5th

I would expect a formal press release from the WSOP early next week.
