Top Players Gather for World Series of Poker Europe
Published on October 11th, 2013 6:51 pm ESTThe 2013 World Series of Poker, which features a total of eight bracelet events, kicked off earlier today with the start of the €1,100 Ladies No Limit Hold'em event.
The total field size and prize pool for Event #1 of the 2013 WSOPE haven't been released as of yet, but it appears as though between 65-70 women ended up turning out for the event. Some of the ladies who turned out included Gaelle Baumann, Liv Boeree and Jackie Glazier.
Early chip leaders in the Ladies event include Anais Lerouge and Laurence Fleury.

Many of poker's top names have spent the last day travelling to Paris for the WSOPE.
This year's WSOPE is taking place at the Casino Barriere in Enghien-les-Bains, which is located just outside of the center of Paris.
As mentioned, this year's WSOPE features a total of eight bracelet events. The two events that will attract the most interest from casual fans are the €10,450 main event (starts on October 19th) and the €25,600 High Roller event (starts on October 22nd).

Phil Hellmuth, who will be looking to defend his WSOPE main event title, left for Paris earlier today:
"High Speed Train! Most poker players traveling London (EPT) to Paris (WSOPE and WPT) are taking HSTrain underneath the English Channel"
Other big names, including the likes of Daniel Negreanu, are also expected to play as well:
"Halfway through my 6 week trip and I hit the wall. I will recharge for WSOPE and be ready! I really want to win WSOP player of the year!"
