Pokerstars to Guarantee $10 Million Prize Pool
Published on September 24th, 2013 4:42 pm ESTPokerstars revealed earlier today that the 2014 PCA (Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure) main event will have a total guaranteed prize pool of $10 million.
The Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure has become one of the most popular stops on the live poker tour, thanks, in large part, to the participation of Pokerstars, the warm location and the early January date. This year's PCA will run from January 5th to January 13th, with the main event starting on the 6th.
Last year's main event, which was won by Dimitar Danchev, ended up paying out a total of $9,573,900.

Let's take a look at the historical PCA main event prize pools:
2013 - $9,573,900
2012 - $10,398,400
2011 - $15,132,000
2010 - $14,831,300
2009 - $12,674,000
2008 - $8,562,976

2006 - $5,647,200
2005 - $3,487,200

The $10 million guaranteed prize pool means that we should see the largest PCA main event prize pool of the post-"Black Friday" era.

The $10 million guaranteed prize pool for the 2014 PCA main event comes just a month after the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open guaranteed $10 million for their main event. The move turned out to be a very smart one, as the tournament ended up with a total of 2,384 entries and a prize pool of nearly $12 million.
