EPT Barcelona Main Event Gets Underway on Sunday
Published on August 30th, 2013 4:04 pm ESTThe tenth season of the European Poker Tour recently got underway with the start of the EPT Barcelona.
The EPT Barcelona main event, which gets underway on Sunday, September 1st, features a buying of €5,300. The main event will conclude on Saturday, September 7th.
Last year's main event, which ended up drawing a total of 1,082 players, was won by Mikalai Pobal of Belarus. Pobal managed to outlast Finnish players Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and Joni Jouhkimainen to take down the first place prize of €1,007,550.
Another EPT Barcelona event that will be drawing plenty of attention is the Super High Roller event. This three day event, which got underway earlier today, has a total buy-in of €50,000. Players, however, are able to re-enter as many times as they want before the start of Day 2 on Saturday.
Some of the names who turned out for the Super High Roller event include Daniel Negreanu, David Benefield, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and Erik Seidel.
Last year's EPT Barcelona Super High Roller event was won by Dan Smith, who ended up taking home €962,925 after cutting a deal with JC Alvarado.
