Published on May 27th, 2013 4:36 pm ESTThe final numbers are in, and the 2013 edition of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) has officially finished with a total prize pool of $75,585,305.05, making it the richest series in the history of online poker.
SCOOP 2013 very nearly ended up doubling its guaranteed prize pool, as Pokerstars had guaranteed a total of $40 million.
The 2013 edition of the Spring Championship of Online Poker featured a total of 44 events, each of which was comprised of a Low, Medium and High buy-in tournament.
Of the 132 individual tournaments that comprised this year's SCOOP, only one missed its guarantee - the $1,050 PL Courchevel Hi/Lo event. Every other tournament ended up with a prize pool that was higher than what Pokerstars had guaranteed.
The three main event tournaments all easily surpassed their guarantees as well:
Low Buy-in - $1 million Guaranteed
Total Prize Pool - $2,304,500
Medium Buy-in - $2 million Guaranteed
Total Prize Pool - $4,039,000
High Buy-in - $3 million Guaranteed
Total Prize Pool - $5,800,000

The previous record for largest ever online poker series was held by the 2012 SCOOP, which paid out $65,332,179 in prizes. This year's SCOOP ended up topping that number by over $10 million, which is quite a remarkable feat.
