49,287 players means that there is a total prize pool of $9,857,400.00. Pokerstars had guaranteed $7 million in total prize money and $1 million to the eventual winner - thanks to the strong turnout, the eventual winner of the event will walk away with $1,242,842.98, while the runner-up will take home $743,839.40 (assuming no deal is made, of course).
The top 6,309 spots in the event will pay, with a min-cash being worth $492.87.
Pokerstars is set to make a very nice haul off of this event - $15 entry fee * 49,287 players = $739,305 in rake, and that doesn't include any of the money that Pokerstars raked in the satellite events. It pays to be the largest online poker room in the world.

The record for largest ever Sunday Million field is 62,116 players, and that was set on December 8th, 2011. That particular Sunday Million celebrated Pokerstars' tenth anniversary.
