FTOPS XXI Off To Solid Start
Published on December 3rd, 2012 9:39 pm EST"DoneNdusted84" outlasted thousands of other players to take down the first FTOPS event since May of 2011. "DoneNdusted84" took home over $187k for his victory, while "Sgoup" took down $130k for second. FTOPS XXI #1 was a multi-entry (up to 3 entries allowed) No Limit Hold'em tournament with a $216 buy-in. There ended up being a total of 5,482 entries, which ended up creating a total prize pool of nearly $1.1 million.
FTOPS XXI, which officially got underway on Sunday afternoon, is the first FTOPS to be held since Pokerstars took over Full Tilt Poker this past summer.
The last FTOPS, FTOPS XX, took place in the days following "Black Friday". Event #1 of FTOPS XX took place on Sunday, April 17th, just two days after the criminal and civil cases against the founders of Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker and Cereus were unveiled. This obviously had a big impact on FTOPS XX, as American players were barred from Full Tilt Poker shortly after "Black Friday" took place.
For the longest time it appeared as though Full Tilt Poker would go under, taking the FTOPS with it, until Pokerstars swooped in and saved the day.
