"Isildur1" Takes Down First, Second Big Online Tournament of Career
Published on May 8th, 2012 11:22 pm ESTA very big year for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has gotten even bigger after the Swedish phenom took down two SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) events - one yesterday, and another one earlier today.
Blom's first ever SCOOP bracelet came in Event 2-M ($215 No Limit Hold'em). 8,240 players turned out for this tournament, which ended up creating a total prize pool of $1,648,000 (Pokerstars had guaranteed $1 million). Blom was able to outlast every last player, taking down the tournament and a payday of $247,200 in the process.
Blom's second SCOOP bracelet came in Event 3-H ($530+R NL Hold'em 6-max, Action Hour), which ended just a few hours ago. In this event, Blom outlasted 485 other players to take down the $160,000 first place prize.
Everybody knows that Blom is one of the top cash game players in the world, but he has also shown this year that he is more than comfortable in the tournament format as well.
Blom started out 2012 with a win in the PCA $100k Super High Roller event for over $1.2 million, and followed this up with three more cashes in assorted EPT events.
In addition to the first major "live" and online tournaments wins of his career, "Isildur1" also recently took $500,000 off of Isaac Haxton in the "Superstar Showdown" on Pokerstars.
Needless to say, it's been a great first five months of the year for "Isildur1".
