Jennifer Harman's celebrity poker tournament was for the dogs, but in this case, that was ok. Harman, professional poker player and lover of animals, set up and hosted a poker tournament at Caesar's Palace that raised over $100,000 for the Nevada SPCA.

215 players turned out for the event, including the likes of Mike Matusow, Patrik Antonius and Daniel Negreanu. The initial buy-in to the tourament was $300, with $200 rebuys available through the first hour, followed by a $200 add-on. Rebuys were being used like crazy, and by the end of the first hour, there was over $100,000 in the total prize pool.

The first place winner was due to receive a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker main event, with the rest of the money going to the Nevada SPCA.

The final table featured Daniel Negreanu and Kirk Morrison, who was chipleader of the WPT Championship event after Day 1B. Morrison ended up taking down the event, and he pledged 5% of whatever we made at the Main Event would be donated to the Nevada SPCA.

A good time was had by all, and a lot of money was raised for the Nevada SPCA.
