The first day of the 2011 WCOOP featured a total of three events, and all three events ended up easily surpassing their guarantees.

The first event, which was a $215 NL Hold'em (6-Max) tournament, ended up with a total of 7,500 entrants. This created a total prize pool of $1,500,000, which easily surpassed the $1 million guarantee.

The second event, which was the $10,300 NL Hold'em High Roller tournament, ended up attracting 200 players. This created a total prize pool of $2 million, which easily bested the guarantee of $1.25 million. Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom were just some of the names that turned out for this tournament.

The third event, which was a $215 NLHE tournament, is still open for late registration. At the time of this article, 10,079 players had decided to enter the tournament, which has created a total prize pool of over $2 million. The event had a guarantee of $1.25 million.

All in all, these numbers are pretty incredible when you consider the fact that American players are no longer able to access Pokerstars.
