Viktor Blom Wins $150k in Latest "Superstar Showdown" Match
Published on June 19th, 2011 6:03 pm ESTViktor "Isildur1" Blom moved to 8-2 in "Superstar Showdown" matches earlier today after taking $150,000 from Rui "PepperoniF" Cao.
The match consisted of two tables of $50/$100 No Limit Hold'em and two tables of $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha. The winner would be the player who was up after 625 hands had been played at each of the four tables (for a grand total of 2500 hands).
It turns out that 2,500 hands wouldn't be needed to determine a winner, as "Isildur1" was able to put "PepperoniF" away after just 2,257 hands. Past "Superstar Showdown" matches have been fairly swingy, but "Isildur1" was able to jump out to an early lead and never looked back.
