Daniel Negreanu Wins $26,500 in Second "Superstar Showdown" Match
Published on March 27th, 2011 11:00 pm ESTDaniel "KidPoker" Negreanu battled back from a large deficit to win his "Superstar Showdown" match against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom earlier today.
Here is a quick recap of the match from Negreanu himself, courtesy of his "RealKidPoker" Twitter account:
"I won the rematch! Was down 130k then made a run and won 26,500 EV adjusted 55k. Wow I feel amazing right now. Isildur1 is awesome. So good."
The original match between Negreanu and Blom was supposed to stretch over two full weeks, but "Isildur1" ended up busting Negreanu's $150,000 starting bankroll after less than 1,500 hands. The two players agreed to a rematch.
While Negreanu and "Isildur1" each won a match, "Isildur1" finished with a profit of $123,500 over the course of their two full "Superstar Showdown" battles.
As mentioned, Negreanu was down to just $20k in today's match, and was in very real danger of busting his $150k starting bankroll for the second week in a row. Much to his credit, "KidPoker" continued to battle hard and ended up finishing with a $26,500 profit.

Daniel Negreanu also revealed via his Twitter account that he enlisted some help to prepare for his rematch with "Isildur1":
"Forgot to thank @ReynoldsXO @nutsinho & Tom Marchese for coming by the house this week and going over last weeks match. VERY helpful."
"ReynoldsXO" is William Reynolds, while "nutsinho" is Richard Lyndaker. If you are going to have someone go over your first match with "Isildur1", then these are three very good guys to be helping you.
