Rematch Between Blom and Negreanu Set For Next Sunday
Published on March 21st, 2011 1:03 am ESTThe much-hyped "Superstar Showdown" battle between Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom ended early on Sunday after Blom won $150,000 over just 1,439 hands.
The match between Negreanu and Blom, which was originally supposed to stretch over two weeks, ended early after Negreanu busted his entire $150k starting bankroll. 2,500 hands were expected to be played today (Sunday, March 20th), with another 2,500 hands slated to go down next Sunday. Unfortunately for Negreanu, the "Showdown" didn’t even last through Day 1.
Negreanu had this to say about the match against "Isildur1" on his Twitter account:
"This has been pretty disgusting so far. Can't imagine running any worse."
"That was pretty frustrating. Lost the match in 1439 hands. In 20k + pots he beat me 12-2 and I ran 44k under par in all in pots again."
A few hours later, "KidPoker" regrouped and posted this:
"Ok, officially shook off the loss. Back to the grind this week and a rematch with a fresh 150k next week."
So there you have it - Negreanu and Blom will be battling it out again next Sunday.

Blom's win over Daniel Negreanu earlier today moves the Swedish phenom to 5-1 in "Superstar Showdown" matches.
Since losing his first match to Isaac Haxton, Viktor Blom has rattled off five straight wins against the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Cates, Tony G, Eugene Katchalov and online qualifier "Dodgyfish72".
