Published on March 11th, 2011 3:49 am ESTPokerstars announced earlier today that the next "Superstar Showdown" will pit Viktor "Isildur1" Blom against Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu.
There is a twist though, as the battle between Negreanu and Blom will stretch out over two weeks. On Sunday, March 20th, Negreanu and Blom will sit down at 4 $50/$100 No Limit Hold'em tables with $150,000 available to each of them. "Isildur1" and "KidPoker" will then play the first 2,500 hands of their "Superstar Showdown" match.
At the end of the 2,500 hand battle, the Showdown will be paused for a week.
On Sunday, March 27th, the Showdown will resume. The finishing stacks from March 20th will be carried over, and Negreanu and Blom will play another 2,500 hands. The winner will be the player who is ahead after the full 5,000 hands have been played.

The battle between Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has been hinted at for a number of weeks now. Negreanu has been sharpening his heads-up game on Pokerstars in recent weeks, and obviously now feels comfortable enough about his game to take on Blom.
Viktor Blom is currently 4-1 in "Superstar Showdown" matches, with wins over Eugene Katchalov, Daniel Cates, Tony G and online qualifier "Dodgyfish72". His lone loss so far has come against Isaac Haxton.
