Published on January 5th, 2011 10:30 am ESTThe 2011 PCA (Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure) is just hours from officially getting underway at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.
The first event of the festival, the $2,300 Fish and Chips event (a mix of poker and fishing), gets underway at 8 am local time on Thursday, January 6th.
The $100,000 Super High Roller event, which will include many of poker's top names, is also scheduled to get underway on Thursday (12 pm local time).
There will be a total of 48 official tournaments that will comprise the 2011 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, as well as countless cash games and Sits N Gos. The first event, as mentioned, gets underway on Thursday at 8 am, while the last event ($10k 6-Max Turbo High Roller) gets underway at 1 pm on Saturday, January 16th.
The main event of the PCA, which is expected to have a prize pool of approximately $20 million, will get underway on Saturday, January 8th and conclude on Sunday, January 15th.
Last year's main event winner, Harrison "gibler321" Gimbel, outlasted 1,528 other players to turn his seat that was won in a $1k satellite into over $2 million. Who will be the big winner this year?
